Redept advised Holland Casino in the selection and leasehold acquisition of a new casino to be built in Utrecht. The new building will be realised in a prominent location adjacent to the A12 motorway at the junction of the Merwede Canal and the Winthontlaan. The building will have a floor area of around 10,000 m2 with reception, gaming halls, public space and restaurant and a parking garage of some 20,000 m2 for around 650 vehicles. Additionally there will be an external restaurant facility of around 600 m2 on the Merwede Canal. The extraordinary building will have an innovative façade that will be illuminated in changing colours. Energy efficiency will be achieved with a thermal energy storage system, solar panels and LED-lighting as well as green roofs and elevations.
The new casino is expected to open in 2021. The transaction was realised in 2017.
